From a Plum tree in Virginia. This 'Hollow Form' was tuned from a Japanese Plum that was dieing from decay and bugs in the root system, this is typical of these trees. Some of the bug holes went deep enough and are now visible in the finished turning.

The crack started naturally, and grew larger as the piece dried. The major part of the turning was done while the wood was still 'greenwood', wet wood.

This is just a sample of what can be done with an old tree that falls.

It is pictured on the mantle of the collector that now owns it om Purcellville, Va.
